Join us for an
informative seminar about how editors choose books
to be reviewed for their publications.
The panel will
consist of three editors/book reviewers and will be
moderated by Traci Bisson of Bisson Barcelona.
The panelists will
discuss how an author can best work with them, what
types of books they review, what is proper follow
up etiquette after a book has been submitted, etc.
Participants
will:
- learn about
each panelist, their position and the
publication they work for
- learn the dos
and don'ts authors need to know before
contacting a publication about their
book
- learn how to
increase their book's chances of being
reviewed
- receive helpful
advice that they can use immediately
- have the
ability to ask questions

ABOUT THE PRESENTERS

Rick
Broussard
|
|
Rick
Broussard has been editor of New
Hampshire Magazine for 14 years. Prior
to that he helped start and became editor
of a small weekly newspaper for the towns
of Bow, Dunbarton and
Hopkinton.
Throughout
all this time he's been a journalist
reporting on topics of human interest,
culture and technology for a number of
Granite State publications as well as
magazines and periodicals in Georgia and
Florida.

Rebecca Rule
|
|
Rebecca
Rule writes a book review column for three
New Hampshire newspapers, the Concord
Monitor, Nashua Telegraph, and
Portsmouth Herald, with the columns
sometimes reprinted in Heart of New
England, an on-line magazine.
Since
1992, Rebecca has written more than 600
columns. She also hosts the NH Authors
Series on NHPTV.

Amy Diaz
|
|
Amy Diaz
is editor of and film critic for
Hippo, New Hampshire's largest
weekly newspaper. As editor, Amy has
helped to expand the pop culture section,
including the book section where the paper
has worked to include both local and
national authors.
Amy has
worked at daily newspapers in California
and in New Hampshire. Most recently, she
worked in southern California at The
Press-Enterprise.
