Ali Barone is best known as the bright and bubbly female carpenter who has made over rooms for unsuspecting homeowners all across America. Ms. Barone appeared for two hit seasons and 30 episodes as the hands on decorating and design dynamo from the hit makeover show While You Were Out on The Learning Channel. Her years spent as an educator, combined with her knockout design for residential, landscape, commercial and television/theater productions have honed her DIY skills which she happily shared with over three million viewers an episode.
Ms. Barone is frequently asked to share her decorating tips and tricks on national news programs and has most recently been featured as a designer on NBC's Weekend Today Show, and a celebrity expert on Open Call with Marki Costello. She has appeared in several national and foreign newspapers as a "giant of home improvement" and all around leading design expert.
Ms. Barone recently served as the production designer for the Children's Defense Fund Annual Benefit Gala in NYC and as a celebrity face for the NYC Habitat for Humanity "Women Build" program. She has also been featured as a contributing writer for Modern Dog Magazine.
Currently, Ms. Barone is a head event designer with a prestigious NY Metropolitan area design company. She has designed over 50 events/parties over the past year with the average event ringing in to the tune of $100,000. She is an established decorating and design consultant, owning her own company, Ali Barone Creations Inc. She is a nationally booked guest speaker that has been featured in Home Expos across America teaching DIY projects and speaking about her life a cast member and woman during the Home Improvement Wave of television.

Ali Barone earned her BFA in set design and also has a MS in education. She has worked for almost 10 years as a freelance artist, stylist and designer in the NYC metropolitan area. She has designed stunning sets as the Art Director for several episodes of Comedy Central's Pulp Comics, various television commercials and theater productions.
Ms. Barone's flare for creating unique and dramatic spaces led her to a successful interior career with residential and commercial clients on the east coast. Ali is also a design consultant for her husband's NYC based construction company. She enjoys all things domestic and currently resides outside of NYC with her husband Chris and their two dogs.
